The Four Biblical Marks of Corporate Worship

The article linked below is a good summary of the subject we’ve been tackling here, really since the inception of this blog. What started at my original blog, voiceoftruthblog.com, has led to a narrower focus here, namely Has God prescribed How He will be worshiped and what is it that He has prescribed? In an attempt to let this unfold scripturally, we’ve been working through the Worship Wars series.

In the link below, Jason Allen summarizes the Regulative Principle of Worship. I do have some minor disagreements, perhaps with his application of 1 Timothy 4:13 and how the four marks look practically (see 1 Corinthians 14:26-40 for example), but overall its an edifying article and should be thought provoking for how we approach and define “corporate worship,” particularly with respect to the RPW.

What are your thoughts? Have you considered whether God has prescribed how He will be worshiped? Do you agree/disagree with Allen’s premise? Let me know in the comments!
